Thousands of people start a diet every day. It might be helpful for these people to know some foods that will hurt their efforts. These are foods that have been shown to make you more hungry when you eat them. For a diet, the last thing anyone needs is increased hunger levels. Not to mention most of this food is very bad for you nutritionally.

  • White Rice

Being our first type of food that causes food cravings, I have gone with something people probably don't think is that bad. White rice is very harmful to any diet though. After you consume it, blood sugar levels will jump to a premium. If you don't know why, it's all about simple and complex sugars. White rice has simple carbohydrates in it that break down very fast and are used as energy quickly. The result is a spike of energy and then the crash. Another trigger that happens when consuming this food is the release of insulin. This lowers blood sugar because of its property of eliminating glucose from the blood. Low levels of blood sugar mean hunger cravings. A good food to try in your diet is anything with complex sugars that takes a while for your body to break down.

  • Sugary Cereals

Our next food to avoid on the menu is sugary cereals. It acts in a similar way as our previously mentioned food and causes spikes in your metabolism process. The trick is to avoid labels. Cereals might say low in fat, but they might be high in sugar. If you want to enhance weight loss, use some type of cereal with little simple sugar in it. Alternatives for this food include oatmeal or organic cereals with no extra sugar.

  • Snack Bars

This is a major problem for dieters. The reason is because snack bars offer low quality nutritional value. Protein and fat found in it are easily broken down and result in sugar spikes that lead to low energy in the long run. If your on a diet and the body feels tired, you will attempt to eat some food for energy. A problem occurs from eating too much. Now, your total calorie deficit is going to be very hard to control and keep at a level that is able to sustainable for weight loss.

  • Candy

In last place there is candy. You may have thought it belongs at the top, but last is not always least. It is bad for you to eat during a diet for fat loss or as a part of anyone's diet in general. The reason for this is the same as all other previously mentioned foods. It has low quality sugars that get broken down very quickly. This results in blood sugar levels spiking because of the pure white sugar in most candy.

If you want to truly lose weight on your diet or exercise plan, avoid eating these types of food at all costs. It will be worth it in the long run.
