Hands down, the most important exercise this person should be doing is running. Running takes your weight off very fast. Start off slow with a few jogs a week for a half mile. After this, increase to 1 mile a day at a steady pace. If you can't finish, then walk. Eventually for consistent and dramatic weight loss, you will need to run 1 mile a day. This is sufficient enough to get you into shape within 2 months. You don't have to lift weights while you do this, but by the end you will be small with little muscle mass if you don't.
